When you can withdraw or get an entry fee back
When you join a paid pot, your entry fee in USDC is held in a smart contract escrow on the Base network. TopPot is non-custodial, so we never hold or control your funds and cannot freeze, move, or confiscate them.
While a pot is still open and has not started, you can withdraw your entry from it at any time and pull your full entry fee back to your wallet. This is a self-service action handled directly by the smart contract. No fee is charged for withdrawing.
Once a pot locks or the competition starts, entry fees can no longer be withdrawn, because the prize pot is committed to the competition. This is how the prize for every entrant is guaranteed. Please only enter once you are sure you want to take part.
If a pot is cancelled before it starts, every entrant is refunded their full entry fee back to their wallet. You will be notified in the app when this happens.
Winnings are paid to your wallet automatically at settlement. Because your wallet is non-custodial, the USDC in it is yours to move or withdraw at any time. You are responsible for keeping safe access to your wallet.
Free entries carry no payment, so there is nothing to refund. They can be withdrawn from an open pot in the same way as paid entries. See the free entry route in our Prize Competition Rules.
If something goes wrong with a deposit, withdrawal, or payout, contact us and we will help. You can raise a formal issue through our Complaints Procedure or email hello@toppot.io.
