1. What TopPot is
TopPot is a free-to-enter, skill-based fantasy sports competition platform. No purchase is ever required to participate. Prize pools are funded by sponsors and competition creators, not by participants.
TopPot offers two competition formats:
- FPL Season Leagues. Competitions based on official Fantasy Premier League standings over a defined period of gameweeks. Results are determined by FPL points scored within the league.
- Score Predictor Pots. Competitions where participants predict the outcome of specific football matches. Points are awarded based on the accuracy of predictions against official match results.
Prize pools are held in non-custodial smart contracts on the Base blockchain. TopPot does not hold or control prize funds at any point. Winnings are distributed automatically by the smart contract upon settlement.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old. TopPot is strictly for adults. We ask you to confirm your date of birth before participating, and anyone under 18 is blocked from entering competitions.
- For FPL Season Leagues, you must have a valid and active Fantasy Premier League account.
- You are responsible for ensuring that your participation in TopPot complies with the laws of your jurisdiction.
- TopPot is not available to residents of the United States.
3. How competitions and prize pools work
FPL Season Leagues
- Competitions are free to enter. The prize pool is funded by the competition sponsor or creator and held in a smart contract escrow prior to the competition opening.
- Results are determined by final FPL standings within the league at the end of the defined gameweek period. We do not manually determine or influence results.
- Prize distribution is as follows: 1st place receives approximately 60% of the prize pool, 2nd approximately 25%, and 3rd approximately 15%. Exact splits may vary by competition configuration and will be displayed before you enter.
- Settlement is triggered after the competition period ends and is based solely on official FPL data fetched from the FPL API.
Score Predictor Pots
- Competitions are free to enter. The prize pool is funded by the competition sponsor or creator prior to the competition opening.
- Participants submit predictions for specified match outcomes before the applicable kickoff deadline. Predictions submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
- Points are awarded based on the accuracy of predictions against official match results, sourced from ESPN match data. We do not manually determine or influence results.
- The participant with the highest points total wins the competition. In the event of a tie, the prize pool is split equally between tied participants.
4. Smart contract and blockchain risk
Prize pools are held in open-source smart contracts deployed on Base mainnet. By participating in any TopPot competition, you acknowledge and accept the following risks:
- Smart contracts may contain bugs or vulnerabilities despite auditing best efforts.
- Blockchain transactions are irreversible.
- The value of USDC may fluctuate relative to other currencies.
- Network congestion or Base network outages may delay transactions.
5. Data reliance
TopPot relies on third-party data sources to determine competition results. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by any of the following:
- Fantasy Premier League API, operated by the Premier League, used to determine FPL Season League results.
- ESPN match data, used to determine Score Predictor Pot results.
If either data source is unavailable, returns incorrect data, or if a season or match is cancelled or materially altered, settlement may be delayed or, in exceptional circumstances, may not be possible. In such events we will communicate with competition creators and work toward a fair resolution, but we cannot guarantee a specific outcome.
6. Sponsors and creators
Prize pools are seeded by sponsors or competition creators before a competition opens. TopPot provides the infrastructure for sponsors to deposit USDC into smart contract escrow for this purpose.
Sponsors and creators are responsible for ensuring that the competitions they fund comply with applicable laws in their jurisdiction, including any requirements relating to prize competitions or promotional activities.
7. Prohibited conduct
- Do not participate in competitions with the intent to collude or fix results.
- Do not attempt to exploit, hack, or manipulate the smart contracts or the platform.
- Do not use TopPot for money laundering or any illegal purpose.
- Do not create multiple accounts to gain an unfair advantage.
8. Limitation of liability
TopPot is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for loss arising from smart contract vulnerabilities, data source failures, blockchain failures, or any other cause beyond our reasonable control. Our total liability to you in any circumstance shall not exceed the value of the prize pool of the specific competition affected.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of TopPot after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via the platform.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
